Play Name | The Word |
Year | 1966 |
Plot | The play is set in a fall out shelter, where a character called Ma takes in five people into her shelter. |
Summary | The production happened in the Government Dental College’s underground theatre near VT station. However, they were renovating the pace and a day before the production they realised that the seats for the auditorium weren’t ready. So instead Pratap got 300 wooden packing cases from a factory for the audiences to sit on instead, and kept tinned food inside the cases. During the play when the characters needed food, they would go up to the audience members and ask for their help. So the audience became a part of the text. Pearl Padamsee played the character of Ma. |
